Teachers are so icky! My current dance teacher keeps telling me I'm doing things wrong! I HATE that! She shouldn't be telling me that, right? Because I think I need to switch schools. To one where I'm never wrong. Because I hate being wrong. Not that I ever am. It's just I don't want to be told I'm wrong, or things like, 'pointe your foot', 'stand up straight', 'your other right', and 'no go to the front, not the side with that leg.' I'm sick of it! It just means I'm doing things wrong. Do you have classes where the teacher just tells you what to do, and then shuts up about it? Or maybe just one where the kids can do what they want? Sometimes I just want to cry. I want to be a professional someday, but it shouldn't be hard. Do you think I should come to your school instead? Su M. Kidd
Reply: Dear Su - We really feel that children need to gain self-esteem by getting what they want in life. Isn't that what we all want, to do things our way? If you are doing things wrong and they are telling you this, then they are not very good teachers. You should come here. We will take your money and do whatever you want. Thanks!!!

We are so thrilled to have switched to this studio. They are so welcoming. At our last studio I tried several times to help with choreography suggestions but the teacher just blew me off, even with my, I mean my daughter's solo! Which was so insulting because I used to take combo classes when I was in elementary school and I watch those TV dance shows all the time so I know something about dance. When the teacher rescheduled a rehearsal so she could attend HER daughter's First Communion, I was done! That would never happen here. They have no "families", only BFFs. Thank you for always putting your studio first, Miss Buffy Sue! Sincerely, Ms. Liv N. Thrumai-Dauta
REPLY: Liv, I can feel your pain! I do not understand how a teacher can be so heartless as to not listen to your suggestions. Who knows your daughter better than you do! Talent is talent and if you have good ideas, they should be heard. How dare this teacher reschedule for communion! She should have sent another family member to take her place.

Hi. I am really excited to learn more about your flexible payment plan! How thoughtful in this economy. We left our previous studio because they were constantly harrassing us by mailing us billing statements, emailing payment reminders and calling and leaving messages for us to contact them. This started when we quit paying in September so you can imagine how stressful it was for me to deal with 9 months of this. At least I knew never to answer my telephone! Then they had the nerve to tell me that my princess could not do recital unless the account was paid in full. Like someone can come up with $1000 in a month! Don't they kno w we just bought a pony for my princess's birthday! Family takes priority in our house. It sounds like you understand that teaching dance should be a volunteer activity. Or perhaps you should pay us for the pleasure of teaching my princess. Have you considered instituting a rebate program for the most special dancers? - Irma Knutjaab
REPLY: Hey. Mrs. Knutjaab, I agree that family takes priority. That is why I would love for you to come down and talk to me and see what sort of payment plan we can work out. Remember, my goal is to make everyone happy, and I know, although most fail at that, I can do it!

My daughter is 4 and she takes swimming, fencing, horseback riding, violin lessons, ice skating, and yodeling. She's going to be famous. I want her to take dance, too, because all famous people took dance when they were nobodies. I want her to do toe dancing, twirling, and river dancing. She can probably help you teach the All-Stare Diva Summer Dance Camp, since she is one. The rest of your ratty-looking students should have the opportunity to learn from the best. So if you want to be able to say that my daughter took lessons from your studio before she got discovered and we moved to Hollywood, then I want a break on her tuition. I al so don't think I deserve to have to pay the registration fee, since my daughter is on her way to fame. We're doing you a favor by coming to you. PS - We're looking for an agent and if you could find her one, that would be great. - Precious Snowflake's Mom
REPLY: I think that when she is 10, she can help teach, but by age five I think that she can be a teacher's assistant then, eventually, join out T.I.T. program. Come on down and talk to me! and we can see what we can work out. I am sure I can make you happy. You should also join our Highland class. That class seems to make all of the women happy.!
ITTTDS is awesome because the teachers really know how to be your friend. I am in the T.I.T. program, and Miss Buffy Sue is always there for all of us. She is a facebook friend to all of us teens, and parties and hangs out with us. She really listens too. When my ex boyfriend shared all those pictures I emailed, she was really there for my since she had just gone through the same thing with one of the studio dads. At TTTDS it's not like they are even adults. It's like a family and the staff is everyone's best friend. GO TTTDS! From Ida Pardee-Gurl, T.I.T. apprentice
REPLY:
Well, I am so happy, Ida, that you are happy with how we run TTTDS. It is such a fun place and there is no school like ours, that is for sure. I wish that more schools would be like us. It would make for a happier world.
I went to target to look for some leotards and tights. Are the sequenced ones with those ballet slippers with satin ok? Can she wear those shiny tights?
REPLY: Oh, she should wear whatever makes her happy. We are all about happy and pleasing the kids and parents.

I've taken my daughter out of the school she was in because she was not being given enough opportunities in relation to her talent. She is six and has been dancing since birth (actually I could tell she had exceptional rhythm in the womb by how she danced around in there) and has been in toe shoes for a year. I know that you will be excited to have a new lead dancer in your school and Divette can't wait to show you her exceptional skills. We'll be enrolling next week and I'm looking forward to observing all of her classes and giving you my input which I hope you will find helpful. Best, Momsy Fromhell
REPLY: Hey, that sounds great! I love a kid with aspirations! Bring her by and we will put her in a class that makes her happy and find a way to showcase her talents.

Hello, I was wondering if you guys do competitions. If you do, do you guys wear the stripper outfits and do crotch kicks to win extra points at competitions? My daughter is 6 years old, and I want her to win competitions. Can I help you make a class schedule to fit her needs?
REPLY: We are just starting to plan a competition group. I think it would be fun! I love those type of outfits (see my photo) and crotch kicks are great, especially to the straight male judges if they are wearing booty shorts. It seems to make them very happy.

My kid likes to stomp around the house. Will you be offering a stomp class? Or, as the snobs call it- tap? I'd much rather she stomp around your studio than my house. Do I have to pay? Because I'd really rather not. Do you have free classes? How much are those?
REPLY: Hmm, never thought of stomp class but if I can find somone who teaches it, or a video so that I can learn it, sure! We like you to pay but everything is negotiable. We do have one free class with our highland dance teacher but it is very late at night and they are private lessons, young girls and teens, only.

Dear Ms Buffy-Sue I'm looking for a Burlesque class for my pre schooler, she's so good at shaking what she hasn't got yet that we put a pole in her playroom for her. It's so good for her upper body strength that she's now starting preschool wrestling and weight lifting. Looking at the pictures of your staff I feel sure that you have someone who is qualified.
REPLY: I am very pleased that you wish to give her these skills at a young age as it is a very lucrative career with tons of earning opportunities. We do not have classes for that style, just yet, but if you know any good female strippers who would love to teach, please recommend them to me.

Hi, I am just enquring about classes for my 3 year old daughter- she is interested in all styles of dance and would like to dance everyday of the week so what would her schedule be like if she were to enroll? Thanks
REPLY: We do not have classes for her age, every day, but she could jump in with older kids if she wants more classes. Just stop by and we can go over the schedule. Thanks!!

Hi! I see that you have classes in ballet and toe dancing. I think that is wonderful. The last studio my daughter attended wanted her to take class 3 times a week to be able to study toe. I think that is atrocious and only designed to take more money from parents! I'm sure you agree. I'm hoping that my daughter can study toe at your school one day a week, and I'd like her to be in a national ballet company by the time she finishes high school, at the latest. Hopefully that is not too much to ask. But if it is, I expect you to accomodate me anyway and get the job done. My daughter has also studied at the city's parks and recreation facilities where ballet classes were $10 a month. I have to say I'm surprised that you charge $10 a week! I have heard that good ballet classes can range from $10-20 a week, but surely that is just because studios want more money from parents. I mean, how much skill does it take to teach ballet to kids? It doesn't look hard to me. In fact, I'd be willing to teach a class myself if I could pay less tuition, or get free tuition. Have you thought of implementing such a program at your studio? I look forward to hearing from you soon.
REPLY: They wanted her to take all those classes just to dance on her toes?!! How silly! Anyone can dance on their toes if they have feet. I do charge $10 per lesson but you do not pay for costumes and we have a lot of extras. We can negotiate, though, but you will need to come on down!
If you want to teach, send me your bio and photo and we can surely find a class for you to teach.
....
Hi! I'm super excited to hear about your school! How are you able to keep your prices so cheap? Is it because you fill your classes with 50 kids? If so, that's wonderful! More of a chance for my 5 year old to make friends! After all, that's the only reason we dance, just to make friends! Good for you! I can't wait to start her!
REPLY: Of course, class should be about the social aspect. Why would anyone want to dance if they cannot have fun and make friends in class?
